Have you thought about getting some animals for your homestead but aren't sure how to properly raise and care for them? In this class, you will learn about many types of animals from chickens to pigs to cows and many other animals in between. We will discuss how to pick the right animal, care for it, address its health needs, and use them as a source for food and fibers. Participants will build a small animal feeder to take home with you. Everyone will also receive a copy of a book written by the instructor that talks about raising chickens and other birds.
Participants will want to bring a notebook and a writing utensil. Wear clothing that can get a little dirty. A pair of safety glasses and gloves may also be helpful. All other necessary supplies will be provided by the instructor.
